Responsibilities of Reviewers

MLAJ requires that potential reviewers have expertise or significant work experience in the field of law. They must have recently carried out research and/or professional work and have acquired expertise recognized by their peers. Potential evaluators should provide personal and professional information that is accurate and fairly represents their expertise.

Likewise, all reviewers should withdraw if they know that they are not qualified to evaluate a manuscript, if they believe that their evaluation of the material will not be objective, or if they know that there is a conflict of interest with the author or material to be evaluated.

The evaluated works are treated confidentially by the reviewers and the members of the editorial committee.

Reviewers should notify the Editorial Board of relevant published work that has not yet been cited in the reviewed documents. If necessary, the publisher may issue a correction request to this effect.

Reviewers are asked to identify articles where there has been or appears to have been misconduct and to inform the editorial board, who will handle each case accordingly.
